The latest on the Friday the 13th re-make:

'FRIDAY THE 13TH' OPENING SCENE REVEALED???
If you head over to CHUD, you will read the following take of what is rumored to be the opening sequence of the 'Friday the 13th' remake. Take this with a grain of salt, but it is definitely interesting, to say the least. More news as we get it.

"The new Friday the 13th is going to open with Jason as a legend in the Crystal Lake area. Five kids out in the woods looking for a bunch of weed they planted and stumble upon the deserted Camp Crystal Lake. Sitting around the fire that night, the dweeby one (there's always a dweeby one) tells the legend of Jason Voorhees. After that the Survivor Girl and her boyfriend wander off into the woods, where they find a shitty old cabin. Inside are some clues, like a bed with the name Jason carved in it. An old picture of a girl who looks just like Survivor Girl.

And Mama Voorhees' head.

Cue Jason. He murderizes the other four kids, and as he grabs Survivor Girl... slam into the opening credits."

MARCUS NISPEL TO DIRECT 'FRIDAY THE 13TH' REMAKE

For those that don't know, the remake will focus on the character of Jason Voorhees and his evolution from demented child to psychotic killer. As of now, the movie is slated for release on Friday, February 13, 2009.

DID PARAMOUNT AND NEW LINE STRIKE A DEAL???
The latest rumor going around concerning the remake/revisioning of 'Friday the 13th' is that Paramount Pictures and New Line Cinema have struck a deal enabling both parties to be active in the production of the new film. Last we heard is that the film will begin production this coming summer. Details are sketchy of course, but when you have fans e-mailing and posting comments on Myspace about it, you had to get the real story, which is exactly what we did. Keep it here for anything further.

'FRIDAY THE 13TH' REMAKE DEAD???
A nasty rumor is circulating the net that the proposed re-make of 'Friday the 13th' is now OFF due to differences involving the rights issues between Paramount and New Line. More on this as we get it.

CLARKSON RUMOR FALSE- CASTING NOT UNDERWAY
Contrary to reports of most other websites, actress Patricia Clarkson (The Woods) is NOT in talks to play the role of Pamela Voorhees in the re-make (revisioning) of 'Friday the 13th' for New Line. A few websites reported that she was in ongoing discussion with Platinum Dunes, but after confirming it through our sources, those reports are false. According to Platinum Dunes, casting has not even begun yet.

LIEBESMAN RUMORED TO DIRECT NEW 'FRIDAY THE 13TH'
According to various sources, Jonathan Liebesman (director of 'Darkness Falls' and the upcoming 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning'), will be continuing his work with Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes as director for the new 'Friday the 13th'. Nothing is official as of yet, but New Line was apparently so impressed with his work that they aren't hesitating to bring him on board. More on this as we get it.

JASON TO WEAR SACK AND/OR MASK IN NEW REMAKE
Apparently, Jason will be wearing his old-time potato sack ala Part 2 when he surfaces in the new remake of 'Friday the 13th'. However, we've also gotten reports that he will wear the trademark hockey mask as well, so that just thickens the plot quite a bit, considering Parts 2 and 3 took place on the same night! Could this possibly be a remake of more than just the events of Part 1 and 2? Stay tuned.

MICHAEL BAY TO PRODUCE NEW 'FRIDAY THE 13TH'!!!
According to an official press release from New Line, Platinum Dunes, the company responsible for the successful remakes of 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' and 'The Amityville Horror', will be producing the next 'Friday the 13th' film!!! That's right, headed by Michael Bay, this film is not going to be a straight remake, rather a re-envisionment, much like they did with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Furthermore, the movie will reportedly take place after the original and show how Jason turned into an unstoppable killing machine, as well as discover how he got his original potato sack, hockey mask, etc.
